Piazza Maggiore

We are delighted to invite you to the 16th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity, which will be held in Bologna, Italy from 3rd to 7th September 2023.

This event marks 30 years since the very first EUCAS was organised in Göttingen, Germany in 1993. Since then, the EUCAS Conference has become a first-rate, world-class event for the sharing of knowledge and latest advances in all areas of Applied Superconductivity, from materials and conductors, to large scale applications for medicine, research and energy transition, as well as electronics for novel devices and quantum computing.

The beautiful and lively city of Bologna, home to the oldest university in the world in continuous operation since 1088, is a landmark in Italian culture and the ideal setting for a fruitful and pleasant meeting. Conveniently located in the Emilia Romagna region, in the heart of northern Italy, it is the perfect base for exploring famous Italian cultural cities (in about an hour, you can get to Florence, Venice, Parma, Ravenna and Ferrara by train). EUCAS 2023 participants will be able to find a wide range of suitable hotels.

In accordance with the tradition of previous events, EUCAS 2023 aims to encourage full discussion and information sharing through the scientific programme, as well as provide a pleasant networking experience with the various social events.

We look forward to welcoming you in Bologna in September 2023.
